The residential meter EF4EVO sets a new standard in natural gas metering, it represents a perfect match between traditional diaphragm mechanical meter and advanced electronic high performance metering. The primary measuring elements consist of two measuring chambers that are separated by synthetic diaphragms; the chambers are filled and emptied periodically by the differential pressure between inlet and outlet. The movement of the diaphragms is transferred to the drawers that are controlling the gas flow. The movements of the drawers are then converted into an electrical signal using a custom encoder.
A full-bore ball valve, installed inside the meter case on the inlet side, allows remote disconnection for operation purposes; the valve is fitted with status switches and it is designed in order to minimize pressure drop. The valve re-opening require remote enabling and user intervention on dedicated push button.
