Sagemcom and NET2GRID partner to accelerate AI-driven grid edge applications
Dallas, TX, July 30, 2026
Sagemcom, a global provider of revolutionary smart communications solutions, and NET2GRID, a SaaS company specializing in AI-driven energy insights, announced a strategic partnership to integrate NET2GRID’s advanced cloud & edge analytics solution, NET2GRID EnergyAI®, into Sagemcom’s international smart metering platform.
As the energy transition accelerates, utilities face increasing challenges in managing the "invisible" load of residential renewables. This collaboration combines NET2GRID’s high-precision energy disaggregation algorithms with Sagemcom’s robust, meter-agnostic communications infrastructure to support utilities at every stage of their journey, whether optimizing existing AMI 1.0 assets or deploying next-generation AMI 2.0 solutions.
By leveraging Sagemcom’s philosophy, which allows utilities to integrate any device or meter, the partnership provides unprecedented interoperability and visibility into the low-voltage grid of a growing diversity of behind-the-meter DERs. The integration specifically targets the rapid detection and management of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) installations, with plans to extend the partnership to include other flexible assets of interest, such as pool pumps, home batteries, and smart home devices.
“Grid edge intelligence is becoming essential for utilities that need to see, understand, and act on what is happening behind the meter,” said Eric RIEUL, CEO of Sagemcom Energy & Telecom USA. “By combining Sagemcom’s open, interoperable platform with NET2GRID’s proven AI analytics, we can help utilities turn existing and future AMI investments into a scalable application layer for real-time insight, DER visibility, and customer engagement. This apps-based approach gives utilities the flexibility to deploy new use cases progressively, accelerate value creation without replacing core infrastructure, and work with a partner ecosystem that brings best-in-class innovation to the edge of the grid.”
"The energy transition is happening behind the meter, and most utilities are flying blind to it," said Bert Lutje Berenbroek, CEO of NET2GRID. "Pairing our AI-driven energy disaggregation with Sagemcom's meter-agnostic platform gives utilities immediate visibility into EVs, solar, and other DERs, using the AMI infrastructure they already have. That's the fastest path from data to actionable insight, and it's why this partnership matters."
Future roadmap
The companies are currently in an exploratory phase for porting the NET2GRID EnergyAI® models onto Sagemcom’s DI platform, “Siconia DI”. The partnership is already kicking off by leveraging the existing NET2GRID EnergyAI® DER analytics in the cloud to provide critical intelligence today to utilities leveraging their existing AMI 1.0 data, regardless of metering provider.
With experience from over 40 million endpoints worldwide, in the North American market, the Sagemcom solution will utilize a container-based deployment model on existing Linux-based AMI 2.0 meters, allowing utilities to upgrade capabilities without costly hardware replacements.
Sagemcom has selected NET2GRID as a DI grid edge applications partner in anticipation of full-scale rollouts scheduled for 2027.
