CONTROL BOX FOR SMART METERING IN GERMANY

The Siconia® SMARTY IQ-IO from Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus GmbH is a control box for use in smart metering systems. It meets the requirements for legally compliant smart metering in Germany.

The control box adds switching functionality to a smart metering system. Thus, high-security switching of consumption and generation can be carried out. The switching operations are carried out both according to a locally stored switching program and via direct commands from the central system.

The device has 4 bistable relays, which can detect a power failure and perform a final switching action to control the connected units.

Communication with the control box takes place with the aid of the smart meter gateway via a highly secure TLS end-to-end connection. The Siconia® SMARTY IQ-IO is designed to meet the requirements of a mass rollout. For local installation, only the plug connections have to be established. The connection to the control centre is then is made automatically.
