Sagemcom delivers its millionth prime meter in Spain

IN OCTOBER 2013, SAGEMCOM, ONE OF THE EUROPEAN LEADERS ON THE AUTOMATIC METERING INFRASTRUCTURE MARKET, DELIVERED ITS MILLIONTH PRIME METER IN SPAIN.

Iberdrola and Gas Natural Fenosa have confirmed their trust in Sagemcom for 2013 and 2014 by selecting the firm as one of their key suppliers for single-phase and three-phase meters for their PRIME solution. This new success confirms the leading position of Sagemcom on the Spanish energy market, where it has been operational since 2009.

Thanks to the scale of deployment operations, the technological maturity of the PRIME protocol and the trust of the leading energy distributors, Sagemcom delivered its millionth PRIME meter in October, confirming its leading position and its technological lead in the field of new-generation smart metering.

With its latest generation of Data Concentrators, Sagemcom will be one of the rare actors on the international market able to boast that its entire Prime range is deployed in Spain.

According to Eric Rieul, Deputy CEO of Sagemcom Energy & Telecom, "this millionth meter is above all the outcome of top-quality cooperation with our customers and quality work based on reliable PRIME PLC technology. These results have confirmed our strategy to promote OFDM PLC technologies to our network operator clients. This success should allow us to double the number of PRIME meters by the end of the second quarter of 2014 thanks to deliveries in Spain and the deployment of end-to-end Sagemcom PRIME solutions in other countries in the EMEA zone".
