Orange and Sagemcom commit to decarbonizing Internet Boxes (Livebox)
Paris, 16th December 2025
- Orange and Sagemcom are joining forces to reduce the carbon footprint of Sagemcom equipment supplied to Orange.
- This agreement covers not only the existing devices already in use by Orange customers but also all future generations of boxes.
- It sets out concrete actions across three key areas: manufacturing, energy consumption, and circularity.
Orange and Sagemcom, a global leader in connected products and solutions, have signed a progress plan that defines measurable targets to reduce CO₂eq emissions linked to products and services provided to Orange. This plan structures tangible actions throughout the entire value chain – from design and production to usage and end-of-life – to accelerate decarbonization.
The agreement does not stop at future internet boxes; it also includes measures for the installed base to identify and activate immediate reduction levers, notably through energy optimization, software maintenance, and extending product lifespan.
This partnership reflects the shared commitment of Orange and Sagemcom to achieve net zero carbon by 2040. For Orange, addressing Scope 3 emissions – which account for more than 80% of the Group’s greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in procurement and supply chain – is essential. This initiative is part of Orange’s broader “Partners to Net Zero Carbon” programme, aimed at accelerating the environmental transition by co-developing significant actions with suppliers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“This partnership with Sagemcom demonstrates our determination to act concretely and swiftly to reduce the carbon footprint of the equipment we offer our customers, by mobilising the entire value chain. Achieving net zero carbon requires immediate and coordinated action. By addressing both the installed base and future generations of boxes, we are reducing environmental impact now while preparing for a more sustainable future.”
Sylvie Babikian, Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, Orange Group
“Orange and Sagemcom share a common culture and vision: to develop products and solutions that integrate innovative and responsible technologies for greater efficiency and reduced environmental impact. By combining our strengths and expertise, we turn climate challenges into opportunities for sustainable innovation. This partnership illustrates our determination to act concretely to achieve net zero by 2040 and our commitment, guided by excellence and trust, to Orange. Together, we are charting an ambitious, realistic, and measurable roadmap for sustainable connectivity.”
Ahmed Selmani, CEO, Sagemcom
