    WHY THE SECURE SUPPLY CHAIN?

Data protection and data security are of utmost importance for the rollout of Smart Meter Gateways (SMGW). SMGW manufacturers and metering point operators are required by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) to take strict security precautions throughout the entire SMGW life cycle.

For this reason, Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus has developed a compact guideline for the secure supply chain of Siconia® SMARTY IQ SMGW, which ensures the integrity and freedom from manipulation of the devices in a practicable manner, from delivery from a protected production environment in Rostock to storage at the metering point operator and assembly at the end consumer.
