Sagemcom Adopts Next-Gen RDK Software for EasyMesh Deployments Across Its Broadband Portfolio
Bois-Colombes – October 6, 2026
Sagemcom, a leading global broadband equipment manufacturer, today announced the adoption of RDK’s new unified Wi-Fi software stack for deploying Wi-Fi CERTIFIED EasyMesh™, the Wi-Fi Alliance’s certification standard for multi-access-point mesh networking, across its broadband portfolio.
Specifically, the unified Wi-Fi software stack includes RDK’s new EasyMesh controller, agent, and IEEE1905.1 layer designed to provide consistency across next-generation broadband deployments. The open-source software provides broadband operators with a standardized, interoperable approach to whole-home Wi-Fi across gateways and extenders. Sagemcom is positioning Sagemcom’s EasyMesh-based solution to scale alongside upcoming Wi-Fi 8 rollouts from RDK operators around the globe.
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED EasyMesh™ enables multiple access points, including devices from different manufacturers, to operate as a single, self-optimizing network: steering clients to the best-performing access point, separating guest and private traffic, managing channels dynamically, and giving operators the analytics they need to monitor performance, all while keeping products from different brands interoperable. RDK’s EasyMesh controller provides centralized management of the network, dynamically controlling traffic, optimizing channels, and steering devices; while RDK’s agent, for Wi-Fi Access Points (APs) or extenders, provides key metrics back to the controller and improves whole-home coverage; and the IEEE1905.1 layer provides the messaging and transport framework for topology discovery, device identification and exchange of EasyMesh control and management messages across the home network.
Sagemcom is deploying the software via an Edge-based controller architecture across its gateway and extender portfolio. The implementation is designed to interoperate with third-party extenders – alongside Sagemcom’s own extenders, in line with EasyMesh’s multi-vendor interoperability goals.
“Operators need a mesh solution that behaves consistently across every gateway and extender in the home,” said Priscilla Defoug, VP Product, Sagemcom. “By deploying this next-gen RDK EasyMesh software, we’re giving the RDK community a proven, standards-based approach to whole-home Wi-Fi that’s already positioned for Wi-Fi 8.”
“Sagemcom is a leading provider of broadband CPE, and we’re very pleased to see them embrace our new EasyMesh controller and agent across their product portfolio,” said Jason Briggs, President and GM of RDK. “We look forward to their continued engagement on behalf of broadband service providers across the RDK community globally.”
RDK open-source software standardizes many of the core functions used in broadband and video devices, allowing service providers to develop and deploy a consistent set of applications and services across geographies, hardware, SoC suppliers, and access networks (GPON, DOCSIS, DSL, and fixed wireless), while managing their devices and harmonizing telemetry and analytics to improve the customer experience. The RDK community is comprised of more than 700 companies including CPE manufacturers, SoC vendors, software developers, system integrators, and service providers, and RDK has shipped on more than 200 million devices globally. RDK software is available at no cost to RDK licensees, and community members can contribute enhancements back to the community.
