Sagemcom today announced that it has been recognized with the 2025 RDK Distinguished Leadership Award at the RDK Global Summit, the 16th of September, in Amsterdam.
This prestigious award acknowledges Sagemcom’s long-standing commitment to advancing the RDK-B roadmap, its contributions to the open-source community, and its role in enabling operators worldwide to deliver next-generation broadband services at scale.

RDK open-source software standardizes many of the core functions used in broadband and video devices. By standardizing these core functions, service providers can develop and deploy a consistent set of applications and services across geographies, hardware, SoC suppliers, and video and broadband access networks. The RDK community is comprised of more than 700 companies including CPE manufacturers, SoC vendors, software developers, system integrators, and service providers.
For broadband, RDK-B standardizes core enabling functions including device management, telemetry, Wi-Fi services, Ethernet access, IPv6 transitioning, and more, which work across all major network access technologies including DOCSIS, GPON, DSL, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). By packaging and open sourcing these in a single standard software stack, service providers can develop, deploy, and manage a consistent set of broadband services across silicon and device manufacturers for use across their networks and geographic footprints.

Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus freut sich, dass Messstellenbetreiber (MSB) die sichere Lieferkette (SiLKe) nun vereinfacht umsetzen können und die Siconia® SMARTY IQ Smart Meter Gateways (SMGWs) über die MSB-Lieferkette versendet werden dürfen. Damit unterstreicht Sagemcom seine führende Rolle in der sicheren und effizienten Digitalisierung der Energiewende.
Im Rahmen der Einführung intelligenter Messsysteme (iMSys) hat das Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) gemeinsam mit der Projektgruppe „Sichere Logistikkette“ des Forums Netztechnik/Netzbetrieb im VDE (FNN) einen Anforderungs-katalog für die sogenannte MSB-Lieferkette veröffentlicht. Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus hat diese Anforderungen frühzeitig in seine Prozesse integriert und bietet seinen Kunden nun die Möglichkeit, zusätzlich zur bestehenden SiLKe auch die MSB-Lieferkette zu nutzen. Voraussetzung hierfür ist, dass der betreffende MSB über ein Sicherheitskonzept verfügt, das den Anforderungen des BSI-Anforderungskatalogs zur MSB-Lieferkette entspricht. In diesem Fall kann der MSB die sichere Lieferkette unmittelbar ab Wareneingang eigenverantwortlich durchführen (z. B. ab dem gesicherten Bereich des rechtlichen Eigentümers).
„Dadurch, dass unsere SMGWs nun für den Versand mit der MSB-Lieferkette vom BSI zertifiziert sind, schaffen wir für unsere Kunden eine neue Ebene der Prozesssicherheit und Effizienz. Die Nutzung der MSB-Lieferkette erlaubt eine flexible und wirtschaftlich tragbare Logistik – von der Produktion über die Lagerung bis hin zur Installation beim Endkunden.“, erklärt Dr. Holger Graetz, Director Sales & Marketing Energy & Telecom, Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus GmbH. „Die Möglichkeit zur Auslieferung durch den MSB reduziert die Komplexität sowie die Kosten und beschleunigt den Rollout intelligenter Messsysteme erheblich.“

Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus gibt die Markteinführung eines weiteren erfolgreich zertifizierten Firmware-Updates für die Smart-Meter-Gateway (SMGW) Serie Siconia® SMARTY IQ bekannt. Das Update wurde entsprechend den Technischen Richtlinien des BSI sowie den Common Criteria entwickelt und erfüllt alle relevanten Anforderungen hinsichtlich Funktionsumfang und Interoperabilität im Rahmen eines intelligenten Messsystems gemäß dem Messstellenbetriebsgesetz. Darüber hinaus unterstützt es mit einer Vielzahl von Neuerungen den effizienten Steuerungsrollout.
Mit dem neuen Firmware-Update erreicht die Siconia® SMARTY IQ Serie ein weiteres Level an Funktionalität und Interoperabilität. Die Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) und die Cybersicherheitsbehörde des Bundes (BSI) haben das Update gemäß dem Schutzprofil BSI-CC-PP-0073, den PTB-Anforderungen 50.8 sowie der Technischen Richtlinie BSI TR-03109 zertifiziert.
Erweiterte Funktionen und erhöhte Effizienz
Das neue Firmware-Update erweitert die Smart-Meter-Gateway-Serie Siconia® SMARTY IQ um zahlreiche neue Funktionen und Features, die insbesondere den Steuerungsrollout weiter optimieren. Messstellenbetreiber können nun steuerbare Verbrauchs- und Einspeiseeinrichtungen effizient regeln, u.a. gemäß §14a EnWG. Dies gewährleistet eine hohe Effizienz und Flexibilität bei der Integration und Verwaltung von intelligenten Messsystemen.
Darüber hinaus sorgt die optimierte LTE- und Ethernet-Schnittstelle für eine zuverlässige und hochverfügbare Messdatenübertragung. Neu hinzu kommt die Kommunikationsoption 450 MHz, die den Zugang zur bundesweiten Plattform für Betreiber kritischer Infrastrukturen ermöglicht. Weitere Effizienzgewinne werden durch die Implementierung des neuen Kompaktprofils erzielt, mit dem mehrere wMBus-Zähler mit Tarifanwendungfall TAF7 gleichzeitig eichrechtskonform und hocheffizient an ein Smart Meter Gateway angebunden werden können.

Mit diesen Erweiterungen positioniert sich das Siconia® SMARTY IQ-LTE als zukunftssicherer Bestandteil des intelligenten Messsystems und als wesentlicher Baustein der Digitalisierung der Energiewirtschaft. Es erfüllt höchste technische Standards und ist auf die Anforderungen eines dynamischen Energiemarktes optimal vorbereitet.
Das neue Firmware-Update ist sofort verfügbar und ermöglicht es unseren Kunden, ihren Rollout ohne Verzögerungen fortzusetzen. Für bereits installierte Siconia® SMARTY IQ-Geräte bietet das Remote-Firmware-Update eine einfache und effiziente Möglichkeit, die neuen Funktionen problemlos zu integrieren.

As the global electric vehicle (EV) revolution continues and the adoption of EVs continues to accelerate, the electrical grid is starting to experience the impact of these new distributed loads on grid infrastructure. The electrical grid was not designed to support mobile loads, which can be unpredictable. How can Smart Charging and vehicle-to-grid integration (VGI) technology mitigate this impact and instead become a key asset for grid stability?
The Enlit Europe 2023 conference in Paris, France focused on the development of a “decarbonized and digitalized energy system for the energy transition.” Integral to this effort is the growing importance of the behind-the-meter ecosystem, which has emerged as the foundation for effectively managing the growing demand for electricity. Málaga, 17th January 2024 - DEKRA expands its scope as a Wi-Fi Alliance © authorised test laboratory (ATL) by integrating now within its services, the certification of devices under the Wi-Fi7 certification program. This distinction positions DEKRA as the first and currently the only laboratory in Europe to be accredited to perform Wi-Fi 7 certifications.
"Wi-Fi 7 will bring major improvements in user experience, on the basis of significantly higher speeds, reduced latency and improved reliability. Sagemcom have signed an agreement with DEKRA to be the first to certify their products with Wi-Fi 7 in DEKRA's laboratories in Malaga. This is a major milestone in the commitment to quality and security of connectivity of both companies.

Wi-Fi 7 is distinguished by advanced features such as 320 MHz channels that enable unprecedented data rates, improving performance in data-intensive applications. Wi-Fi 7's Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology combines different channels across frequency bands simultaneously, optimising spectrum efficiency and resilience against interference. Sagemcom, world leader in broadband communications and energy solutions, has acquired Odit-e, a french digital player specialized in artificial intelligence solutions for the planning, management and maintenance of low-voltage electricity and drinking water distribution networks.
This acquisition enables Sagemcom to expand its range of software solutions ("SICONIATM software suite") for network operators, based on Odit-e's expertise in analyzing data collected by smart meters and sensors on networks.
By integrating Odit-e's complementary skills and knowledge, Sagemcom is strengthening its position in the booming electricity and water distribution markets, and helping to boost its visibility and growth in these sectors.

Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus gewinnt mit dem Stromzähler Siconia® SMARTY BZ-PLUS einen maßgeblichen Anteil der Ausschreibung über die Lieferung von modernen Messeinrichtungen der DIGImeto GmbH & Co. KG. Damit gehört Sagemcom zu den Hauptlieferanten.
Mit dem gewonnenen Auftrag geht die gute und intensive Zusammenarbeit der beiden Unternehmen in Sachen moderne Messeinrichtungen in die zweite Runde. Aufgrund der positiven Erfahrung der letzten Jahre sowie der erfolgsorientierten Kombination aus der Entwicklung der Messtechnik und langfristig orientierter Zusammenarbeit konnte Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus in der Ausschreibung überzeugen.

Sagemcom wird DIGImeto diese modernen Messeinrichtungen in den Jahren 2023 bis 2028 liefern. Damit steht der Siconia® SMARTY BZ-PLUS für langfristig kundenorientierte moderne Messeinrichtungen und bildet die messtechnische Grundlage eines erfolgreichen Rollouts des intelligenten Messsystems in Deutschland.
